Back alive

We just spent a week in upstate NY! A great week it was too. GEL-oh, sorry to have missed you on Sunday. I hope you are feeling better.

Too much happened to fit into one entry. Besides, we don't have our own pics yet. Let's start with this borrowed photo of Kristof Ongenaet dunking on Lazar Hayward of Marquette during the Saturday 'Cuse game that I attended with LUD. Syracuse won, 87-72, in its last good moment of the 2007-2008 season. After today's blowout loss to Villanova, the season is over (unless you count the post-season NIT, which nobody from a real conference does). Maybe we'll be better next year with a somewhat more experienced team and, hopefully, a more injury-free one.

Glad you made it back OK. How was your trip home? Had to be better than the eastward one, yes? It was great to see you. Maybe next time, we'll all head WEST!

Happy to hear you arrived home safely. Can't wait to see some of your pictures. So sorry I didn't get to see you. Maybe I should combine a Washington/LA trip?

Johnny Flynn played AAU ball with Lazar, and was joking with him that he probably made Sportscenter's top 10 and that he should watch for it. Too bad they stunk yesterday. I guess I can go to the Crunch game Sunday and not worry about watching the selection show.

K's flight home was diverted to Missoula, MT, because a guy had a heart attack on the plane. Amazingly, she got home only 1-1/2 hours late.

My flight home was delayed almost an hour because the flight crew arrived late. Other than that, the trip home was fine.

I thought all the snow would really mess up your travel; can't wait for additional NY trip blogs!
